More than 50 home sporting events for seven different Ashland University programs will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on SportsTime Ohio during the 2017-18 athletic year.
Select home contests for Eagle football, volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball and wrestling will be seen on STO, also the home of Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians. This is an expansion of the Ashland/STO relationship, which in the past consisted of replays of select football, men's basketball and women's basketball home games.
"We are beyond excited to expand the livestreams and STO replays this year," said Rachel O'Connor, Ashland Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions. "We always look for ways to set ourselves apart from other Division II schools in our area; this is one of those ways. Ashland is the only D-II school in the state of Ohio that airs this many varsity athletic events, and we're very proud to have that distinction.
"Additionally, John Skrada, S&S Productions and JDM do an incredible job producing these home events. I am so thankful for the time and effort they put in to help us highlight our incredible student-athletes and top-notch facilities."
The first 2017-18 Ashland STO broadcast will be the Ashland-Ohio Dominican football game, to be played on Saturday (Sept. 9) at 7 p.m. at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field. The game will be replayed three times on STO – Sunday (Sept. 10) at 9 p.m., Monday (Sept. 11) at 7 a.m. and Tuesday (Sept. 12) at noon.
