Through the 2017-18 winter sports season, Ashland University's athletic department is 15th in the Learfield Directors' Cup (NCAA Division II all-sports) standings.
Winter standings were finalized after the men's and women's basketball seasons concluded. Ashland finished the winter with 289 points – 90 from women's basketball (No. 2 national finish), 80 from men's indoor track and field (No. 4), 75 from wrestling (No. 5) and 44 from women's indoor track and field (No. 29).
Ashland's 289 winter points are the sixth-most in the country.
With 342 points so far in 2017-18, Ashland has the second-most among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference athletic programs.
Ashland finished in the top 10 of the Directors' Cup standings every year from 2007-08 to 2014-15, and has done so nine times overall since its inception in 1995-96.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
