With the 2017-18 athletic year winding down across NCAA Division II, Ashland University's athletic department is in 13th place in the latest Learfield Directors' Cup (D-II all-sports) standings, released on Thursday (May 31) morning.

Through the entire athletic year minus baseball, Ashland has collected 535.5 Directors' Cup points. Of those, 193.5 have been collected in the spring by the Eagle men's outdoor track and field team (second place in the nation, 90 points), women's golf team (T-17th place, 55.5 points) and women's outdoor track and field team (T-24th place, 48 points).

Ashland's season-long point total is second-most among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference athletic programs.

The final 2017-18 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings will be released on June 14. Ashland finished in the top 10 of the Directors' Cup standings every year from 2007-08 to 2014-15, and has done so nine times overall since its inception in 1995-96.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
