Sixty-two Ashland University student-athletes have earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference academic recognition, as the conference's 2018 spring All-Academic Excellence and All-Academic lists were released on Thursday (May 31) morning.
Twenty-five Eagles earned spots on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams (cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better), while 37 Ashland student-athletes landed on the GLIAC All-Academic teams (cumulative GPA of 3.00-3.49).

Ashland student-athletes earned 223 GLIAC academic citations during the entire 2017-18 academic/athletic year – 99 All-Academic Excellence and 124 All-Academic.
The entire Ashland University athletic department sported a cumulative GPA of 3.22 for the spring 2018 semester.
Criteria states a student-athlete who earns All-GLIAC academic recognition must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student. Grades are based on marks from the spring semester of 2018. The GLIAC as a whole had 814 spring academic honorees – 432 All-Academic Excellence and 382 All-Academic.
