Vaughn Named AU Associate Director Of Athletics Development

On Thursday (July 26) afternoon, Ashland University Director of Athletics Al King announced the addition of Kyle Vaughn as the Athletic Department's Associate Director of Athletics Development.

"We are delighted to welcome Kyle to the Athletic Department," King said. "I believe he's going to thrive in this position. He's been an exceptional employee during his time at Ashland University. He's a former student-athlete here, and he understands what we're asking him to do. He has a bevy of thoughts and ideas, and I can't wait to see those implemented."

Said Vaughn, "I am thankful for the opportunity to work within the athletic department for my alma mater, and cannot wait to connect with alumni and supporters of AU Athletics. We are going to work hard to make sure our student-athletes receive the very best experience at AU."

Vaughn comes to athletics from across campus, where he has been the university's Director of Advancement Services for the past 16 months. Included among his duties were gift processing, data analytics/reporting and metrics development and tracking. Prior to that, Vaughn served the campus in separate two-year stints as Director of Annual Giving, Assistant Director of Admissions and Registrar Representative.

Vaughn is a former Ashland University men's soccer player. He is a 2006 AU graduate with a degree in Finance and Economics, and he earned his Masters of Business Administration from AU in 2014. During his time as an undergrad, Vaughn was a student assistant in Institutional Research.

Between work stints at AU, Vaughn was a financial advisor for four years.

"I want to thank President Dr. Carlos Campo, Margaret Pomfret and Jason Miller for their help in making this position a reality," said King. "There's tremendous potential with this position to introduce some new projects and expand the reach of our department. A number of NCAA Division II institutions around the nation support a similar position.

"This is another example of the commitment of the university to the Athletic Department, and I'm so thankful we've been able to add this position."
