Ashland University's athletic department, in conjunction with AU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, will play host to its inaugural Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 1 during halftime of the Eagle women's basketball game at 1 p.m. vs. Ferris State.
Fans are encouraged to bring at least one stuffed animal to the game. Any stuffed animals collected following the halftime toss will be donated to both Associated Charities and the Salvation Army.
"I'm real excited to work with SAAC on this initial effort," said Zachary Hurst, Ashland University Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Marketing and Promotions/Game Day Operations, "to continue building relationships in the community on behalf of Ashland University Athletics. We hope to see the event grow in future years."
