The Ashland University athletic department will host three canned food drives at home basketball games during the month of December.
Canned food will be collected at the following basketball games at Kates Gymnasium – the Dec. 15 men's game vs. Lawrence Tech, the Dec. 17 women's game vs. Notre Dame College and the Dec. 19 men's game against Kentucky Christian.
All canned goods collected at those three games will be donated to the Salvation Army Food Pantry, which serves about 300 families a month. These items will benefit low-income families within Ashland County.
Anyone who brings in three or more items will be entered in to win various prizes from the Ashland University campus store, basketball concessions stand and the AU athletic department. Fans will receive an additional ticket for entry to win the various prizes for every three items dropped off.
