Ninety-eight Ashland University fall student-athletes were honored by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday (Jan. 23) morning, as the 2018 GLIAC fall academic awards were released.
Fifty-four Eagles earned GLIAC All-Academic Excellence recognition, while 44 Eagles landed spots on the GLIAC All-Academic teams.
From the GLIAC web site: "Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the fall semester of 2018."

The entire Ashland University athletic department earned a cumulative GPA of 3.16 in the fall 2018 semester.
As a conference, the GLIAC had 873 student-athletes listed with fall academic honors – 452 All-Academic Excellence and 421 All-Academic.
