Earning the second-most winter-season points to date in NCAA Division II has allowed Ashland University's athletic department to make quite the move up the 2018-19 Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings.
Thanks to a men's indoor track and field national championship, an 11th-place finish by the women's indoor track and field team, and a 27th-place showing by wrestling at nationals, Ashland has climbed up to the No. 9 spot in the nation in the first winter Directors' Cup standings reveal on Thursday (March 14) morning.
Ashland has the second-most D-II winter points through the first release (213) to only Adams State (242), and has 288 points so far in 2018-19.
The next release for the 2018-19 Division II Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings will be March 28.
