2012: Frate's season was cut short by injury. He pitched in three early season games before being forced to the sidelines. Frate registered one save.

2011: The right-hander saw action in seven games as a freshman. He made one start.

High School: Frate was a four-year varsity letterwinner at North Royalton High School. He was named to the All-Northeast Ohio Conference team and was the North Royalton High School MVP. Frate was also an All-NOC honorable mention performer in 2008. He was 4-1 with a 2.32 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched.

Personal: Frate's parents are Remo and Kim Frate. He is majoring in sport management.
