The Ashland University baseball team opened its trip to Florida on Friday (Mar. 8) with a 10-6 win over Winona State.
AU had a 10-2 lead heading to the bottom of the ninth inning.
The Eagles had 12 hits. Catcher John Broll (Mississagua, Ont./Genesee C.C.) had the only extra-base knock for the Eagles. He tripled.
Wade Kaido (Zanesville, Ohio), Tyler Gray (Plain City, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) and Austin Walts (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele) had two hits apiece for the Eagles.
The win ups AU's record to 3-1.
Ashland will play a doubleheader against Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday (Mar. 9).
