2013: As a sophomore Walts settled in as the starting shortstop. He was named second team All-GLIAC and earned a spot on the Midwest Region All-Tournament Team. Walts tied for third on the team in runs and was fourth on the team in hits. He tied for second on the team in stolen bases. Walts started 53 games.

2012: Walts saw extended action as a freshman. He played in 46 games and started 40. Walts tied for second on the team in sacrifice bunts (5).

High School: Walts played at Amherst Steele High School. He was a two-time letterman.

Personal: The infielder is the son of Todd and Laura Walts. He is a business/sports management major and was named to the 2013 GLIAC All-Academic Team.
