Suspended Game Goes To Timberwolves

Suspended Game Goes To Timberwolves

The Ashland University Eagles and Northwood Timberwolves were rained out on Sunday (Apr. 13) in Midland, Mich. The teams were scheduled to finish one baseball game and start another.

All night rains prevented the Eagles and 'Wolves from finishing the suspended game that started on Saturday. That game goes into the books as an 8-1 win for Northwood. The game had been suspended in the sixth inning.

Sunday's nine-inning game between the teams was also lost due to wet grounds.

NU's Steve Latos held the Eagles to four hits over six innings. Latos walked four and struck out three. The Northwood pitcher is 1-3.

Northwood put the game away with a seven-run fourth inning. No AU player had more than one hit. Kyle Brooks did belt a double.

The loss went to Mitch Cox (3-1). He worked 3.1 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on six hits.

AU is 17-13, 7-8 in the GLIAC. Northwood is 12-18 and 4-12.

AU's next game is this Wednesday (Apr. 16, 3 p.m.). The Eagles and Tiffin Dragons will play a single, nine-inning game. The teams split a doubleheader last week.
