2014: Was an honorable mention All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection in his first extensive varsity time...Was second on the team in games started (11), third in appearances (17), second in wins (seven), tied for first in complete games (five), first in innings (84 1/3) and second in strikeouts (46)...Boasted an ERA of 3.84...Had three consecutive winning decisions, all in GLIAC play, from April 16-23.

2013: Smith appeared in five varsity games, all out of the bullpen...In junior varsity action, was 2-1 and led that unit with 13 strikeouts.

High school: Smith was Lehman's Catholic's Most Valuable Player as a junior...His sophomore season, he led the Cavaliers in strikeouts and had the lowest ERA on the team...Was a four-year letter winner...Was 8-1 as a sophomore and 9-2 as a junior...Lehman Catholic was the regional runner-up during his junior season.
