AU Baseball Wins Third Straight In Florida, 12-8

Ashland University's baseball team made it 3-for-3 in Florida games so far this spring, defeating Northwood, 12-8, on Sunday (March 6).

The Eagles scored three runs in the top of the first, then broke a 5-all tie with three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Pacing AU's 15-hit attack were senior second baseman Mike Lewandowski (3-for-6, three runs scored, two doubles, RBI), sophomore designated hitter Greg Ludwig (3-for-4, double, RBI) and senior first baseman Mackenzie Hampshire (3-for-4, double, three RBIs).

Junior Brandyn Sittinger won his first game of 2016, striking out eight and allowing seven hits, five runs (three earned) and four walks in six innings. Senior Alex Smith came in to get the last two outs for the save.

The Eagles (4-2) will continue Florida play on Monday (March 7) at 3:30 p.m. vs. Slippery Rock.
