Ashland University's baseball team concluded its annual Florida trip with a 7-0 loss to Wayne State on Saturday (March 12).
The Eagles had eight hits in the defeat – one each from eight different players. Both sophomore designated hitter Greg Ludwig and senior right fielder Nick Edwards hit a double.
Sophomore Luke Smith started and took the loss, allowing three hits, two runs and a walk and striking out three in two innings.
The Eagles (7-6) will return home and begin 2016 play at Donges Field with three non-conference games against Saginaw Valley State on March 18-20.
