Sittinger, Sorma Land More Postseason Honors

The postseason awards keep pouring in for Ashland University junior right-handed pitcher Brandyn Sittinger and sophomore third baseman J.P. Sorma.

Sittinger has earned first-team All-American honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and second-team All-American status from the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings. Sorma is an honorable mention All-American selection by the D2CCA.

Sittinger was 11-0 with a 2.23 earned-run average in 14 appearances (13 starts) in 2016. In 88 2/3 innings, he struck out 131 and allowed 65 hits, 27 runs (22 earned) and 40 walks.

Sorma finished 2016 hitting .381 with 17 home runs (second on AU's single-season list), 11 doubles, 51 runs scored and 59 RBIs. He will take a 29-game hitting streak into 2017.
