Ashland Baseball Loses In Florida Opener, 11-2

In its first game of the RussMatt Invitational on Friday (March 3), Ashland University's baseball team lost to Kentucky Wesleyan, 11-2.

The Eagles are 2-3, while the Panthers are 6-7.

Ashland managed seven hits, led by junior outfielder Connor Barleben, who was 2-for-4 with two doubles, and senior shortstop Brad Hartman, who continued his hot start at the plate in 2017 with a 2-for-4 showing.

Senior left-handed pitcher Mike Gentile took the loss, allowing six hits, seven runs (four earned) and five walks and striking out three in five innings.
