Former Eagle Warren Temporarily Promoted To AAA Tacoma - Ashland University

Art Warren has shown the Seattle Mariners enough in the early part of the 2017 minor league baseball season to temporarily move up two rings within the organization.

Warren, 24, who saw action in 10 games out of the bullpen earlier in 2017 for the Class High-A Modesto Nuts, recently was promoted to the Class AAA Tacoma Rainiers, but will return to Modesto. In those 10 games with Modesto, Warren was 1-0 with a 3.00 earned-run average and a save in 18 innings. He struck out 17, and opponents hit .215 against him.

In his first full professional season in 2016, Warren was 11-2 with a 3.17 earned-run average in 27 games (20 starts) at two levels. He was a Midwest League All-Star with the Class A Clinton Lumberkings.

A 23rd-round selection by the Mariners in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, Warren is 13-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 43 regular-season games (20 starts) in his minor-league career.

Warren also has seen action in the postseason in both of his minor-league seasons, pitching in one game each for the Arizona Rookie League Mariners in 2015 and the now-defunct Bakersfield Blaze in 2016.

The Rainiers' next game is scheduled for Tuesday (May 16) at 7:35 p.m. at the Omaha Storm Chasers.

In his only season on the mound for the Eagles in 2015 after transferring from Division I Cincinnati, Warren was 5-4 with a 3.88 ERA in 60 1/3 innings over 12 starts in 2015. He allowed 48 hits and 47 walks while striking out 52, and yielded just one home run.
