Mittermaier Selected To NCBWA All-Midwest Region Second Team

Ashland University sophomore designated hitter Carson Mittermaier was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Midwest Region second team the organization announced on Wednesday (May 16), the eve of the NCAA Division II regional tournament.

Mittermaier is batting .389 (63-for-162) on the season with four home runs and 47 RBI. He ranks fourth in the GLIAC in batting average and on-base percentage (.477) and is 10th in slugging percentage (.562). His RBI total is eighth in the league.

He has totaled 12 doubles and two triples on the season and has 19 multi-hit games.

The Eagles (32-20) open play at the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament on Thursday (May 17) at 9:30 p.m. ET against Northwood in Springfield, Ill. Ashland is seeded sixth in the tournament while the Timberwolves are third.
