The Ashland University esports Fortnite team was ranked No. 5 in the nation by Collegiate Starleague in the organization's preseason power ranking.
The Eagles' Fortnite team, which pairs into duos for competition, includes Gabriel Alonso, Mikah Juma, Michael Krohn, Brant McAdams, Alec Mueller, Lucas Ratcliff, Chris Smith and River Wheeler.
Official CSL competition in Fortnite begins on Sunday (Oct. 27) with eventual finalists being invited to the Collegiate Starleague LAN finals at the end of the season. The finalists will compete for a $25,000 prize pool.
The University of British Columbia is ranked first, followed by Penn State, South Dakota School of Mines, Illinois Institute of Technology and Ashland. Western Michigan, Utah, Cal Poly Pomona, Washington and St. Clair College round out the Top 10.
