Eagle Football Receives Votes In AFCA Preseason Poll

Ashland University's football team is among squads receiving votes in the 2015 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Preseason Division II Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles received 56 total votes. Three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference programs will start the 2015 season in the AFCA Top 25 – Ferris State (sixth), Ohio Dominican (eighth) and Grand Valley State (24th). AU will play host to both the Panthers (Sept. 19, 7 p.m.) and the Lakers (Oct. 31, 7 p.m.) this season.

Also this preseason, the Eagles were picked to finish second in the GLIAC South Division in the 2015 GLIAC Football Preseason Coaches Poll, and they were ranked 23rd in the 2015 Lindy's Division II Preseason Top 25 Poll

Ashland finished the 2014 campaign at 8-2 overall and 8-2 in the GLIAC. The Eagles return 11 starters from last season – five on offense and six on defense.
