Eagle Football Jumps To No. 19 In Latest AFCA Poll

Saturday night's (Sept. 19) football game at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field will be a matchup of nationally-ranked teams.

Ashland University's football team (2-0 overall, 2-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) is ranked No. 19 in this week's American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released Monday (Sept. 14). The Eagles will play host to Ohio Dominican (1-1, 1-1), ranked No. 17 in the country, at 7 p.m.

Ashland (2012) and Ohio Dominican (2013-14) account for the last three GLIAC South Division championships, and the two programs have finished in the upper half of the division each of the last four seasons. The Eagles are tied for first place in the South after two weeks of play, while the Panthers are a game back.

The AU-Ohio Dominican game will be "First Responders Night." All first responders and military members will get free admission with appropriate identification, and also will have the opportunity to be part of the fan tunnel prior to kickoff.
