Ashland University's football team earned one more victory on Saturday (Oct. 10) night at Saginaw Valley State.

The Eagles also earned a one-spot movement up to No. 8 in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Poll, released on Monday (Oct. 12).

AU has achieved its highest ranking in the AFCA poll since being ranked No. 4 in the final regular-season poll of the 2012 season following the Eagles winning the first 11 games of that campaign.

Ashland is one of four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams in this week's poll, along with Ferris State (No. 4), Michigan Tech (No. 12) and Grand Valley State (No. 18).

The Eagles will return home for three of their final four regular-season games of 2015, starting with Homecoming and the Traveling Trophy game against Hillsdale on Saturday (Oct. 17) at 1 p.m. at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.
