Saturday (Oct. 31) night's game at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field won't be unfamiliar territory for Ashland University's football team.
While it will be the first-ever time the No. 5 Eagles will play a game in which both teams were in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll's top 10 (Grand Valley State is ranked No. 9), AU has plenty of experience playing – and winning – as a nationally-ranked team.
Saturday's contest will be the 39th time Ashland will play as a ranked team since the AFCA coaches' poll began in the 2000 season. The Eagles are 25-13 when ranked, and have won 10 of their last 11 games as a Top 25 squad.
As a nationally-ranked team at home, Ashland is 11-5.
