Shaheen Lands On Academic All-America Second Team

After a highly-successful sophomore season on the field, Ashland University tight end Adam Shaheen is earning recognition for his work in the classroom.

Shaheen is a member of the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Division II second team, as announced on Wednesday (Dec. 2). He is the first Eagle football Academic All-American since safety Eric Schwieterman in 2013.

On the field in 2015, Shaheen turned in the best season in Eagle history for a tight end, catching 70 passes for 803 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 70 catches are third-best in Ashland football history.

In the classroom, Shaheen sports a 3.93 cumulative grade-point average as a Finance major.

In November, Shaheen earned first-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors.
