Shaheen Earns Spot On AFCA Division II All-America Team

A landmark season has resulted in what continues to be an awards-filled offseason for Ashland University sophomore tight end Adam Shaheen.

Shaheen has earned a spot on the 2015 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' All-America Team, released on Thursday (Dec. 10). He is Ashland's first AFCA All-American since current Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Jamie Meder in 2013.

Shaheen turned in the best season in Eagle history for a tight end, catching 70 passes for 803 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 70 catches are third-most in Ashland football history, and that total continues to lead all NCAA tight ends at all levels in 2015.

Earlier this offseason, Shaheen earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Division II second team, as well as the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team.
