83 AU Student-Athletes Earn Fall GLIAC Academic Honors

Eighty-three Ashland University fall student-athletes earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference academic honors, as the conference's All-Academic Excellence and All-Academic lists were released on Friday (Jan. 22).

Forty-three Eagles earned a place on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams (cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or better), while 40 Ashland student-athletes found a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic teams (cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.49).

Of the 43 Ashland All-Academic Excellence fall student-athletes, almost a third (14) came from the women's cross country team. The football team (21) led the fall sports in All-Academic selections.

The GLIAC as a whole had a total of 1,162 fall student-athletes achieve all-academic recognition, with 577 on the All-Academic Team and 585 on the All-Excellence list. Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the start of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student.
