2014: Played in all 10 games in a backup role, recording 15 total tackles (10 solo, five assists)...Had career-high three total tackles in back-to-back games at home against Northern Michigan in Week 8 and at Grand Valley State in Week 9...Earned a second straight GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team (3.50 GPA or higher) spot.

2013: The Ashland native earned a spot on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team...Played in his first collegiate game at home against Northern Michigan (Sept. 28).

2012: Bernhard was redshirted.

High School: Bernhard earned 10 letters - four in baseball and three apiece in football and basketball at Ashland High School...On the gridiron, he was first-team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference and first-team all-area in 2011...In 2011, he also was first-team All-NCOCA, second-team All-Northwest District and was a finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman in Ohio...As a senior, Bernhard threw for 2,460 yards with 20 touchdown passes and rushed for 336 yards with eight scores...Established the AHS single-game mark for passing yards (449) against Sandusky in 2010...Had 101 tackles while playing linebacker...Bernhard played on conference championship teams in football in 2009 and 2011, and those teams were also regional runner-ups...During his career, the Arrows were 27-10 in football.

Personal: Bernhard is the son of Matthew and Tricia Bernhard...Matthew Bernhard played four years of college football and is AU's team surgeon...Tricia Bernhard played four years of volleyball at AU.
