Ashland University's football team remains at No. 5 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Poll, released on Monday (Sept. 12) afternoon.

This is the third week the Eagles have been in the poll, following a No. 6 preseason ranking and a No. 5 slotting on Sept. 5.

Since 2006, Ashland is 29-14 as a Top 25 team in the AFCA poll. In their last 16 games as a ranked team, the Eagles are 14-2.

The Eagles have company as a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team in the AFCA poll. Grand Valley State (No. 2) and Ferris State (No. 6) also are in the top six in the country, while Michigan Tech and Hillsdale also are receiving votes.

Ashland (2-0 overall, 1-0 GLIAC) will play its third of three straight home games at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field to begin the 2016 season on Saturday (Sept. 17) at 7 p.m. against Findlay (1-1, 1-1).
