Eagles Ranked No. 17 In AFCA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

Ashland University's football team is ranked No. 17 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Monday (Oct. 3) morning.

The Eagles are 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and lead the GLIAC South Division.

Since 2006, the Eagles are 31-15 (.674) as an AFCA Top 25 team. Since the start of the 2014 campaign, Ashland is 16-3 (.842) when playing as a ranked team.

Ashland is one of three GLIAC teams ranked in the AFCA Top 25, along with Grand Valley State (No. 2) and Ferris State (No. 14).

Ashland will return to Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field for its annual Homecoming game on Saturday (Oct. 8) at 1 p.m. against Northwood (1-4, 1-4). All-time against the Timberwolves, the Eagles are 3-1 on Homecoming. This will be the first time Ashland will play Northwood as a nationally-ranked team.
