A convincing 45-7 Homecoming win over Northwood on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon has allowed the Ashland University's football program to vault to No. 11 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Monday (Oct. 10) morning.

The Eagles are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and continue to lead the GLIAC South Division.

Since 2006, the Eagles are 32-15 (.681) as an AFCA Top 25 team. Since the start of the 2014 campaign, Ashland is 17-3 (.850) when playing as a ranked team.

Ashland is one of three GLIAC teams in the Top 25 poll, along with Grand Valley State (No. 2) and Wayne State (No. 25).

The Eagles have a 15-game GLIAC regular-season home winning streak, best in the conference. AU, however, will begin a three-game road swing on Saturday (Oct. 15) at 1 p.m. at Lake Erie (0-6, 0-6). Ashland is 1-0 all-time against the Storm as a nationally-ranked team – a 68-21 win at home on Sept. 29, 2012.
