Eagles Stand At No. 11 In AFCA D-II Coaches’ Poll

For the second consecutive week, Ashland University's football team is ranked No. 11 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll, the latest edition of which was released on Monday (Oct. 17) morning.

The Eagles are 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and continue to lead the GLIAC South Division by one game over second-place Tiffin.

Since 2006, the Eagles are 33-15 (.688) as an AFCA Top 25 team. Since the start of the 2014 campaign, Ashland is 18-3 (.857) when playing as a ranked team.

Ashland is one of four GLIAC teams in the Top 25 poll, along with Grand Valley State (No. 2), Wayne State (No. 22) and Ferris State (No. 25).

The Eagles will go out of conference for a week to travel to Owensboro, Ky., and take on Kentucky Wesleyan (1-6) on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 2 p.m. Eastern, 1 p.m. local.
