Eagle Football Ranked No. 21 In AFCA Division II Poll

The Ashland University football team is ranked No. 21 in the Oct. 31 edition of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll.

The Eagles are 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and lead the GLIAC South Division by percentage points over second-place Ohio Dominican (6-3, 6-3).

Since 2006, the Eagles are 34-16 (.680) as an AFCA Top 25 team. Since the start of the 2014 campaign, Ashland is 19-4 (.826) when playing as a ranked team.

Ashland is one of three GLIAC teams in the latest AFCA Top 25 poll, along with Grand Valley State (No. 2) and Ferris State (No. 19).

The Eagles will play their last regular-season game at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field in 2016 on Saturday (Nov. 5) at 1 p.m. against Walsh (1-8, 0-8). It will be Senior Day and Band Day.
