For the second year in a row, Ashland University junior tight end Adam Shaheen has earned Academic All-District honors in NCAA Division II, District 4 from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as the 2016 teams were released on Thursday (Nov. 3) afternoon.

Shaheen has caught 50 passes for 801 yards and a school-record 13 touchdowns in nine games in 2016, and is two touchdown grabs shy of tying a Division II single-season record for tight ends. He leads all D-II tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs in 2016.

Also a 2015 CoSIDA second-team Academic All-American, Shaheen has a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average in Finance.

Shaheen will advance to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot in Division II. That team will be announced on Nov. 30.
