Eagle Football Up To No. 20 In AFCA Coaches Poll

Ashland University's football team has moved up one spot to No. 20 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll, released on Monday (Nov. 7) morning.

The Eagles are 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and lead the GLIAC South Division by percentage points over Ohio Dominican (7-3, 7-3) – Ashland's opponent in the 2016 regular-season finale on Saturday (Nov. 12) at noon in Columbus.

Since 2006, the Eagles are 35-16 (.686) as an AFCA Top 25 team. Since the start of the 2014 campaign, Ashland is 20-4 (.833) when playing as a ranked team.

Ashland is one of three GLIAC teams in the latest AFCA Top 25 poll, along with Grand Valley State (No. 2) and Ferris State (No. 18).
