LINK – AMERICAN FOOTBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION HOME PAGE

Ashland University's football team is 16th in the final regular-season American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll, released on Monday (Nov. 14) morning.

The Eagles finished their season at 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and with a third GLIAC South Division championship.

Ashland is the only team in the latest Top 25 poll to not be selected for the 2016 D-II postseason, and is the highest-ranked team at the end of a regular season to not go to the playoffs since Humboldt State in 2011.

Since the AFCA poll began in 2000, the 2016 campaign is the first time that Ashland was ranked each week from the preseason to the end of the regular season.
