In the first American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll of the 2017 regular season, released on Monday (Sept. 4) morning, Ashland University's football team continues to be among teams receiving votes.

The Eagles received 32 votes in the latest AFCA poll. In the AFCA preseason poll released on Aug. 14, AU received 130 votes and was just outside of the Top 25.

Since 2000, when the AFCA took over the official coaches' poll, Ashland has been in the Top 25 on 59 occasions. The 2017 preseason poll snapped a streak of 25 consecutive times the Eagles landed in the Top 25.

Ashland (0-1) opened 2017 with a last-second 26-23 loss on Thursday (Aug. 31) night to now-No. 6-ranked Indiana, Pa. Ashland will take on 0-1 Ohio Dominican, which received one vote in Monday's poll, on Saturday (Sept. 9) at 7 p.m. at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field.
