For the third consecutive time, Ashland University's football team is among teams receiving votes in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches' Top 25 poll, the latest of which was revealed on Monday (Sept. 11) afternoon.

The Eagles (1-1) received 37 votes, more than the 32 in the poll on Sept. 4. Ashland moves up from the No. 8 team receiving votes to No. 5 in that group.

Since 2000, when the AFCA took over the official coaches' poll, Ashland has been in the Top 25 on 59 occasions. The 2017 preseason poll snapped a streak of 25 consecutive times the Eagles landed in the Top 25.

Following its 47-21 victory over Ohio Dominican at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field on Saturday (Sept. 9) night, Ashland returns to the road to begin Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 16) at 1 p.m. at Northwood (2-0). The Timberwolves are one of three GLIAC teams undefeated through the first two weeks of play, and one of 41 undefeated teams across NCAA Division II.
