A record-setting and record-tying day has resulted in a conference honor for Ashland University redshirt senior quarterback Travis Tarnowski.

On Monday (Sept. 18) morning, Tarnowski was named the Week 3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. In the Eagles' 42-14 win on Saturday (Sept. 16) afternoon at Northwood, Tarnowski, in just one half of action, was 15-of-18 for 339 yards and five touchdowns.

Tarnowski became Ashland football's all-time leader in passing yards with 9,196, and tied the program record for touchdown passes in a game, which he previously had done twice.

Through three weeks of the 2017 season, Tarnowski leads the GLIAC in passing yards (919) and passing touchdowns (10), and is third in the conference in completion percentage (70.2). He has a current streak of 109 consecutive passes without an interception.

This is Tarnowski's second GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week award, his first coming on Oct. 19, 2015.
