Ashland University has a nationally-ranked football team once again.

Thanks to their 20-3 win over then-No. 2-ranked Ferris State on Saturday (Sept. 23) night at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field, the Eagles are No. 20 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Monday (Sept. 25) afternoon. It is the first time since the final poll of the 2016 season that Ashland has been in the Top 25.

Since the inception of the AFCA poll in 2000, Ashland has been ranked 60 times. In 2016, the Eagles went the entire season in the Top 25 for the first time.

Ashland is one of three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams in this week's Top 25, along with Grand Valley State (No. 9) and Ferris State (No. 15).

The Eagles are 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC - one of three teams still undefeated in conference play in 2017. Ashland will play new conference foe Davenport (0-4, 0-3) on Saturday (Sept. 30) at noon in Grand Rapids, Mich.
