A seventh NCAA Division II playoff berth is looking more and more likely for Ashland University's football team.

In the third set of Super Region Three rankings released on Monday (Nov. 6) afternoon, the Eagles (9-1 overall, 8-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) remain in the No. 3 spot for a second week in a row. Ashland has won nine consecutive games.

Seven teams from each of the four super regions will make up the 2017 playoff field of 28 teams. Ashland is one of 42 teams in Super Region Three from the GLIAC, Great Lakes Valley Conference, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Great American Conference.

The top team in each super region will receive a first-round bye on Nov. 18. The next three teams in each super region will play host to first-round games that day.

The first two sets of regional rankings were released on Oct. 23 and 30. The Division II postseason selection show will be Sunday (Nov. 12) at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.

Ashland has made six previous NCAA Division II postseason appearances – 1986, 1997, 2007-08, 2012 and 2015.
