Owens, Assistants To Make Speaking Rounds In Ohio

Fresh off adding more than 40 new players to the 2018 roster, Ashland University's football coaching staff is heading out into the state of Ohio for a couple upcoming speaking engagements.

Head Coach Lee Owens, Associate Head Coach/Offensive Line/Run Game Coordinator Doug Geiser and Quarterbacks/Passing Game Coordinator/Head Junior Varsity Coach Tom Stacy will be speakers at the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Clinic on Friday (Feb. 9) and Saturday (Feb. 10) at Easton in Columbus.

Owens will speak on Friday at 2 p.m., while Geiser and Stacy will talk about "Eagles Sprint Out Passing Game and Complementary Routes" on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

On Monday (Feb. 12), Owens will be the speaker at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. The lunch at Tozzi's on 12th, 4210 12th Street Northwest in Canton, Ohio, will be at 11 a.m., with the 50-minute program to begin at 12:10 p.m.

Ashland announced 45 freshmen and transfers on National Signing Day on Wednesday (Feb. 7). The Eagles are coming off a 2017 season in which they finished 11-2 with a first-round NCAA Division II postseason home win and a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. Ashland ended the campaign ranked 10th in the final 2017 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll.
