Eagles Land At No. 18 In Latest AFCA Coaches’ Poll

Ashland University's football team will go into Week 2 of the 2018 season ranked No. 18 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Preseason Division II Coaches' Poll, released on Monday (Sept. 3) afternoon.

The Eagles (0-1) lost their season-opener on Thursday (Aug. 30) at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field to No. 4-ranked Indiana, Pa., 21-17. Ashland will go on the road for the first time this season on Saturday (Sept. 8) at 7 p.m. vs. No. 17-ranked Ohio Dominican (1-0), in Columbus, Ohio.

Since the AFCA took over the Division II poll in 2000, Ashland has been in the Top 25 on 70 occasions, including preseason.

Ashland is one of three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams in the latest Top 25, along with Grand Valley State (No. 8) and Ferris State (No. 9).
