Reichelderfer Earns GLIAC Defensive Player Of The Week

Leading an impressive team defensive effort has earned Ashland University junior stud Tristan Reichelderfer a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference award.

Reichelderfer is the Week 9 GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, following a 31-6 win at Davenport on Saturday (Oct. 27) in which he racked up a team-high eight total tackles to go with 1½ sacks, 2½ tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.

As a whole, the Eagle defense kept the Panthers to six points, nine first downs and 149 yards of total offense, while racking up six sacks, nine tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a fumble-recovery touchdown and seven pass breakups.

In his first season as a starter at stud after playing inside linebacker in 2017, Reichelderfer is fourth on the team with 41 total tackles. In his last four outings, he has 31 total stops (12 solo), 1½ sacks and 2½ tackles for loss.

Reichelderfer is the first Eagle to win GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors since defensive end James Prater Jr. on Nov. 13, 2017.
