Ashland University senior safety Isaiah Stiverson has earned one of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's top honors.

As announced by the GLIAC on Friday (Feb. 1) afternoon, Stiverson has landed a 2018 fall GLIAC Commissioner's Award, presented to six female and six male student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play. All grade-point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.

Stiverson started for a second season in a row at safety for the Eagles in 2018, finishing with 38 total tackles (22 solo), two tackles for loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble. Through the 2018 fall semester, he sports a 3.73 cumulative GPA as a Marketing major.

Earlier in the offseason, Stiverson garnered second-team NCAA Division II Academic All-America from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), CoSIDA Academic All-District and first-team All-GLIAC honors.

Stiverson gives Ashland 39 GLIAC Commissioner's Awards since their inception in the fall of 2007, seven of those being earned by Eagle football players.
