Ashland University's football team continued its recent strong showing in the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, as eight Eagles earned entry into the 2019 class.
Seniors Travis Downing (long snapper), Trevor Downing (safety), Jamie Hence (wide receiver), Jack Holl (defensive tackle/tight end), Brandon May (nose tackle), Luke Ogi (tailback), Isiah Roberts (cornerback) and Isaiah Stiverson (safety) all met the criteria for recognition within the Hampshire Honor Society.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have:
- Completed their final year of playing eligibility in 2018;
- Graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), may also be nominated.
- Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and
- Met all NCAA- or NAIA-mandated progress toward degree requirements.
All-time, since 2008, Ashland's football program has had 29 players recognized by the NFF Hampshire Honor Society. Since the program's inception in 2007, more than 10,000 student-athletes have been honored across NCAA Divisions I, II and III, and NAIA.
