As a defensive lineman at AU, Dirk Dickerhoof was known for his determination and physical play. It's no surprise that he brings that same kind of intensity to the coaching staff.

Dickerhoof is in his eighth season as an AU assistant coach, and his fifth in the Recruiting Coordinator capacity. He was a three-year letterman for the Eagles, and in 2010, he was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention list. In 2009, he received the football team's True Grit award.

Away from the gridiron, Dickerhoof has worked as an assistant program director for sports and education programs at the Massillon (Ohio) Boys and Girls Club. He has also served as a program director for the Massillon Recreation Department and completed an internship with the recreation department at the Kroc Community Center in Ashland.

Dickerhoof played football at Massillon Washington High School. His senior year, Massillon was 13-2 and was the state runner-up. The head coach of that team was current AU assistant coach Tom Stacy.

Dickerhoof and wife Kaylee have been married for one year.
