Noble Named To Bevo Francis Award Watch List

Ashland University junior center Drew Noble has been selected to the watch list for the Bevo Francis Award, which is given to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball, including NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

Noble is one of 100 players on the watch list, which was announced on Tuesday (Jan. 15) morning. The list will narrow down to 50 players on Feb. 15. He is one of just two players in the GLIAC to be selected to the Bevo Francis Award watch list.

Noble ranks sixth in the GLIAC in scoring (17.3) and ninth in the conference in rebounding (6.6). He is shooting 49.5 percent (95-for-192) from the field and 81 percent (64-for-79) from the free throw line. He is third in the league in field goals and free throws made.

The 6-foot-8 Louisville, Ohio product has scored in double figures in each of the last eight games, averaging 19 points per game in that stretch.

Noble was an All-GLIAC second team and GLIAC All-Defensive Team selection in 2017-18 as a sophomore.

Graduated senior Wendell Davis advanced to the top 50 of the Bevo Francis Award watch list last season.

The Eagles (14-1, 7-1 GLIAC), currently ranked No. 6 in Division II, will play host to Saginaw Valley on Thursday (Jan. 17) at 7:30 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium.
