Eagles Ranked No. 15 In Division II Coaches' Poll

The Ashland University men's basketball team was ranked No. 15 in the latest release of the NABC Division II coaches' poll on Tuesday (Feb. 5) afternoon.

The Eagles (18-3, 10-3 GLIAC) are coming off a tough weekend in which they dropped a pair of games to now-No. 25 Davenport and Grand Valley state.

Ashland was ranked in the top 10 in the last five polls and have now been included in the top 25 the last eight weeks.

The Eagles had won five straight games going into last week, but now will look to rebound with road games at Ferris State and Lake Superior State. AU beat both teams at Kates Gymnasium in December. Thursday's game against Ferris State will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

The Eagles, in their 10th season under head coach John Ellenwood, rank third in the nation in scoring defense, giving up just 62 points per game. Teams are shooting under 40 percent against the Eagles this season.
